We carefully chose the word "Transformation" because it reflects our ambition and goal. The South needs fundamental change in all areas - politically, economically, and socially.

We are a group of South Yemenis in the diaspora, believing that positive change is possible through peaceful and democratic struggle. We work to build strong political representation for Southerners and bring their voice to the international community.

Understanding our cause requires understanding our history. South Yemen has a distinct identity shaped by over a century of separate development from the North.

Britain occupied Aden and established protectorates over southern territories. Aden became a major trading port and developed distinct administrative and legal systems.

After armed struggle, South Yemen gained independence. The People's Democratic Republic of Yemen was established - an independent state with UN membership and international recognition.

For 23 years, South Yemen existed as an independent state with its own government, military, constitution, currency, and foreign relations. It developed distinct institutions and national identity.

Unification with North Yemen based on equal partnership. The agreement promised power-sharing, but its terms were never fully implemented. Southern leaders became increasingly marginalized.

Civil war erupted after Southern leaders attempted to restore independence. The North's military victory led to mass confiscation of Southern lands, forced retirement of tens of thousands of Southern military and civil servants, and systematic marginalization.

Peaceful protests began with retired military officers demanding their rights. The movement grew into a mass popular movement demanding the right to self-determination for Southern people.

Yemen descended into civil war. The South continues to face instability while the Southern people's aspirations for self-determination remain unresolved. We advocate for a peaceful, democratic solution.
